Introduction

Recently, there is a growing trend in North America, Europe, and Japan for partnerships integrating Universities, Government Agencies, National Laboratories, and Industry to carry cutting edge research but at a slower rate in Education.  One strategic goal of RFTONICS is to involve graduate and undergraduate students in the latest research developments and to train TIC Fellows and students in a collaborative environment involving Industry. RFTONICS training and research program focuses on the full development of its fellows and both undergraduate and graduate students through an excellent mentoring program to provide role models for scientists/educators/engineers who are establishing their careers.  One major activity of RFTONICS is to plan, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate a comprehensive professional skills and workforce preparedness’ training package to all TIC trainees at KSU and partner institutions.
